From a Blank Page to Your Coffee Table: The Story Behind Our Magazine

Live in Colour
Every town has its stories. The ones you hear over coffee, at the market, or walking along the seafront. But somewhere along the way, they fade — replaced by headlines from far-off places and stories that don’t quite feel like ours.
We wanted to change that.
Why We Started
We started because we don’t care how many social media followers you have, how many likes your last post got, or whether your business is brand new or has been here for generations. Every story matters.
Stories link our past, present, and future. They get to the heart of what makes people shine — what makes you warm to a business, choose an independent retailer, or gather your friends for dinner somewhere special.
They give us a reason to pause and reflect. They create pride. They help us support each other, acknowledge one another’s efforts, and learn something new.
It began with a simple question: Where are Southport’s stories?
The faces behind our favourite shops. The milestones worth celebrating. The events that make our streets buzz.
We saw a gap — a space where local life could be celebrated in print, where residents could see themselves on the page, and where small businesses could share the stage with big community moments.
And so, the magazine was born.
What Makes Us Fresh & Why We Matter
- We lead with people, – every article is rooted in real conversations.
- We are proudly local – made in Southport, about Southport, for Southport.
- We value design and detail – pages you actually want to pick up, keep, and flick through.
- We are a platform for discovery – helping you find the next great event, café, or creative in town.
We’re not trying to be the loudest voice. We’re here to be the one that feels closest to home.
Behind the Pages
Each issue starts as scribbles on paper and late-night emails.
We spend hours chasing down the perfect image, re-writing a paragraph so it sounds just right, and debating which story deserves the front cover.
It’s part creativity, part caffeine, and part stubborn belief that a printed magazine can still feel exciting in the digital age.
Why This Matters Now
In a time where most of what we read scrolls past in seconds, holding something in your hands — made with care, filled with voices you know — feels rare.
We want to keep that alive.
To make our readers proud to see their community in print.
And to make picking up a magazine feel like discovering something worth keeping.
Highlights from August
This magazine isn’t just ours — it’s yours.
Every story we tell is part of the bigger picture of Southport.
So pick up a copy, pass it to a friend, and tell us what you want to see next.
Because the more we share, the more our town shines.
