Giving young people space to write, think, question and be part of the town they are growing up in.
One of the parts of Southport’s Journey we are especially proud of is the way young voices are becoming part of what this platform continues to build.
Working alongside Southport Learning Trust and Meols Cop High School, we are creating space for students to write, reflect, contribute ideas and begin seeing that what they notice about the world around them has value.

Welcome to the Southport’s Journey Blogging Team
Why this matters
There is something quietly powerful about watching a young person realise their words deserve to be read.
Some arrive full of ideas and confidence. Others need a little more encouragement at first. What always stands out is how quickly honest writing begins to appear when they are given permission to trust their own voice.
For us, this is not about producing perfect writing.
It is about opening a door.

Building Confidence
Building confidence through writing
Through workshops, writing opportunities and Youth Voice activity, students are building confidence in communication while learning that their ideas can sit alongside wider community stories.
It also helps young people connect more deeply to place, identity and what they want their voice to become.
Have something to say?
We want this part of Southport’s Journey to continue growing.
If you are in Southport or the wider area and have something thoughtful to contribute, whether as a school, a young writer, a parent or an organisation, please get in touch. There is room here for more voices.

Your story matters.
Your voice is powerful.
And we’re ready to help you share it with the world.
